seek prayer always
Everyone has a story to tell. When we make the connection between our story and God's great story, we come away with HIStory, which involves each and every one of us.
In my personal walk with The Lord, I have experienced periods of what appear to be SILENCE. It's disheartening to feel that He is not listening. You wonder if your sin is so big that He's stopped listening. Or maybe your prayers aren't spiritual enough. Or could it be that He's just focusing His energy on more spiritual people? Or are you not praying enough? You can fill your thoughts with endless questions and doubt. But the truth is, He is in FACT listening and is orchestrating the most amazing plan you could ever imagine. God's silences are not absences!
If we study His Word, we find endless scripture to encourage us in our prayer time. I want to share 3 verses with you:
Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!
- Psalm 27:14 (NKJV)
As always, God is so loving that when we seek Him, we are rewarded. He asks us to wait on Him - to be courageous. What does He do in the midst of this? He strengthens our heart. These periods of silence are necessary to fulfill God's will and purpose in our lives. It is difficult to endure these times, He knows this, so He gives us what we need: strengthening of our heart. Through this process, He speaks to us. Be attentive to His voice.
But without faith it is impossible to please Him,
for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
-Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
He tells us to have faith. When we pray we should pray expectantly - not hopelessly. Pray knowing that He will answer in His time. Believe! In the meantime, remain obedient to Him. Again, He rewards those who "diligently seek Him."
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
-Hebrews 4:16 (NIV)
Let's approach His throne with courage when we pray. He is ready to give us more of Him through grace and mercy in our hour of need.
These are amazing promises! Let's act on them and live like God is reminding us today of His promises so we can cash in on them tomorrow! There's no need to wait to receive these promises and rewards. I know, it's so much easier said than done. But when you are obedient to His Word and His commands, He will help you. He will sustain you. He will do this by strengthening your heart and rewarding you with more of Him.
